It comes back to 1950s , at that time Geotaxtile had used as a filter to control of erosion in Florida province .

Bob Part became famous and called Geotextiles Father because he was the first  person who had suggested that Geosynthetics in the water and soils projects.

Geosynthetic fabrics ,commonly known as Geotextiles ,are typically used and are available as woven and nonwoven materials.

These filters need to be tough to withstand abuse while other layers are installed ,while being open enough to provide good flow for water into the drainage layer .in granular or what sometimes known as a single layer green roof the filter fabric is used to separate large granular  material .

The ability of the Geotextile to allow water permeability is referred to as

Hydraulic conductivity by permittivity.
